MAGISTRATES have confirmed two anti-social behaviour closure orders applied for by Pendle Council and the police on separate properties in the borough.

Evidence on the unrelated cases in question, 16a Walton Street, Colne, and 118 Every Street, Nelson, was given to the hearings regarding serious nuisance and disorder at both houses including drunken parties, damage, fights on the street between people using the address and general alcohol related disorder.

The tenant of the Walton Street property, Sarah Leonard, was banned from staying at the flat for three months after the court heard she and her associates had been the cause of serious nuisance and disorder for the past year, with an escalation in the problems since February.

Every Street tenant Scott Allen was also handed a three-month banning order after the court was told he had ignored an injunction from his landlord in February warning him about the complaints from neighbours.

One told the court parties would last for four or five days at a time.

Locks have been changed on the property in Colne, while the one in Nelson is boarded up.
