THE ladies at Nelson Golf Club were involved in a couple of tough away matches last week.
In the LLCGA Bronze Shield match away at Turton, despite a number of very close matches , the ladies lost out 4-1.
The team comprised: Pauline Burrows, Christine Fletcher, Carol Jeffrey, Wendy Collins + Penny Stanworth
In the LLCGA Handicap Shield match away at Dunscar, it was deja vue for the Handicap team who lost 5.5 - 1.5.
The team comprised: Lynne Grandfield, Kate Dennis, Stella Newton, Marion Wilkinson, Anne Kendra, Vena Eastwood and Betty Dixon.
At Marsden Golf Club the competition for each section was the 2nd Medal.
The results were as follows: Men 0-11 Category 1st, Mark Eastwood 77-10-67 CPO; 2nd, Sam Balderstone 72-5-67; 3rd, David Walton 76-8-68. Best Gross Sam Balderstone 72.
Men 12-17 Category 1st, Trevor Lingard 81-16-65; 2nd, Lindon Shaw 82-15-67; 3rd Dave Southern 84-14-70 CPO.
Men 18-28 Category 1st, Stephen Frankland 88-21-67; 2nd, Thomas Sheehan 89-19-70; 3rd, Michael Seaward 95-24-71.
Ladies – 1st Lady Captain Wendy Brearley 96-31-65; 2nd, Carol Robinson 104-33-71; 3rd Lady Vice Captain Michelle Lingard 100-25-75.
Juniors – 1st, Thomas Nicholson 110-45-65; 2nd, Tyler Baxter 86-17-69.
