Earby undone by a strong Baxenden side

IT WAS a lovely day and a hard dry track, Earby won the toss and invited Baxenden to bat.

.Unfortunately that turned out to be 313 to win. Kam Younas attacked from ball one, rode his luck and was dropped five times as he made a massive 184 off 119 deliveries.

Callum Waddington (39) and Mark Rishton (59 not out) supported well with partnerships of 157 and 93.

None of the Earby bowlers really looked able to apply the breaks, Jake Hargreaves the pick taking 4-100, Martin Kegg 1-68, and even the usually tidy gloves of Sumner missed a couple of regulation stumpings late on.

Ali Azmat opened, faced eight balls, scored 12 and departed. Adam Yates looked comfortable until a mix up and was run out going for three while Danny Kegg and Aron Pollard came and went.

The only real resistance came from skipper Pete Baistow (44) who smashed three sixes of the first three balls of a Smithson over, but had to defend the fourth.

And Ryan Sumner who got to 34. Eventually the curtain fell on this one sided match, Earby 112 all out.
