CYCLE Sport Pendle member Sam Boast, riding in the colours of Hope Factory racing, had his biggest win to date near Sheffield on Sunday.

The 19-year-old from Colne took the chequered flag after 75 tough, hilly miles on a circuit based around the village of Stanington on the edge of the peak district.

His win is reward for a series of top 10 places in the first half of the season.

In second place was 21-year-old Universities Champion Tom Stewart , from Chesterfield, after he and Sam had shared the pace in an almost race-long break, finishing 1 minute 30 seconds ahead of a depleted field.

Meanwhile, more young cyclists from Pendle have been in the thick of the action in recent weeks, with podium places for several Team CSP members.

Cycle Sport Pendle are making great progress, and riders in all age categories are performing exceptionally well.

Nathan Hawthorne is ranked number one in the UK Under 12 category with several wins under his belt, while Amy Gornall is ranked at number three in the UK in the girls’ Under 16 category.

Back to back wins for Oliver Payton over the weekend have catapulted Team CSP up the national rankings and they are currently the third most successful youth orientated club in the UK.
