A TEAM of 12 swimmers from Colne Amateur Swimming Club travelled to the John Charles Cente for Sport in Leeds for the City of Leeds SC Summer A/B grade meet.
The team all achieved new personal best times and brought home a total of 27 medals, including eight gold, two silver and two bronze medals at the A Grade meet and 10 gold, three silver and two bronze medals at the B Grade meet.
The girls’ winners were Jasmin Lahey (9) four A Gold and one A Bronze, with 8 new personal bests, Danielle Baxter (10) 1 B Gold, with eight new personal bests, Lucy Green (11) one B Silver, with four new personal bests, Abbie Hampshire (12) with five new personal bests, Nicole Baxter (12) two A Gold and four B Gold, with 10 new personal bests, Miranda Bower (12) one A Silver, with six new personal bests, Ashleigh Dibb (13) 2 A Gold and one A Silver, with four new personal bests.
The boys’ winners were Gregan Baker (12) three B Gold, with six new personal bests, George Connolly (12) one B Bronze, with three new personal bests, Theo Rowan (12) one B Silver, with two new personal bests, Alex Dickinson (12) one B Silver and one B Bronze, with two new personal bests, Isaac Rowan (15) one A Bronze and two B Gold, with four new personal bests.
Last Sunday, at the Palatine Leisure Centre in Blackpool, Colne ASC had their final fixture in the Micro League against teams from Blackpool, Clitheroe and Leyland.
The young Colne swimmers put in a fantastic effort to finish with 149 points behind winners Leyland B on 158 points.
Clitheroe B finished on 87 points in third with Blackpool C finishing on 84 points.
