COLNE: A 31-year-old man, said to have exposed himself to “upset the police” in drunken trouble, is awaiting sentence.

Burnley Magistrates have heard how William Alderson was said, by the prosecution, to have committed a “one-off” offence, when his behaviour was “extremely unpleasant” to the officer.

The defendant, of Allendale Street, Colne, admitted to exposure and to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, as well as police obstruction, on July 25th.

Silvia Dacre (prosecuting) told the court the exposure was not one of a series of offences and the defendant did it to upset the police, rather than for sexual gratification.

The defendant was bailed for a pre-sentence report and had to obey a curfew between 10pm and 7am.
