NELSON police are asking witnesses to come forward after a man indecently exposed himself to a small group of schoolgirls in the town last week.
The incident happened on Wednesday, November 23rd, between 2-30 and 3 p.m. on Lomeshaye Road, when the five girls, who are aged around 15 years old, were walking home from school.
The man shouted to the girls to get their attention and then, with his trousers down, he proceeded to touch himself inappropriately.
The offender is described as being a white man, tall, aged in his 30s, with short scruffy brown hair and a short beard.
DC Andrew Maden, from Nelson CID, said: “”This man exposed himself in full view of the public and the young girls were left distressed by the incident.
“It is possible this man was on the adjoining Cobden Street shortly before or after the incident, so I’d appeal to anyone that saw a man acting suspiciously in the area to come forward.”
