PENDLE Forest and Craven Hunt sent seven representatives to the Pony Club Tetrathlon Championships at Hartpury College, Gloucestershire.
Hannah Renwick, Katy Mousdale, Grace Jeffreys, William Bower, William Cass, Simon Mousdale, and Daniel Grant all competed, and produced accomplished performances under the pressure of the event.
And while the girls were unplaced this time, the boys team of William, William, Simon, and Daniel won the Intermediate Boys’ team competition, on a score of 11,144 points, to earn the club’s first team win since 1988.
Pony Club Tetrathlon incorporates the disciplines of running, cross country riding, target shooting, and swimming, and provides a gateway for young people into Modern Pentathlon.
Full of inspiration from silver medallist Samantha Murray - who hails from West Bradford, Clitheroe - and Mhairi Spence at London 2012, over 200 Pony Club members took part at this year’s national championships.
