PAKISTAN international midfielder Adnan Ahmed looked to have given unbeaten Nelson all three points on Wednesday night at home to West Didsbury and Chorlton.

However, in a see-saw final 10 minutes, the visitors snatched a 2-2 draw with two minutes remaining.

Former Huddersfield Town and Tranmere man Ahmed struck with five minutes to go at Victoria Park, after the Blues had led with 10 minutes remaining, courtesy of joint player-manager Robert Grimes’ opener, five minutes into the second half.

The Manchester visitors levelled matters on 80 minutes through Lewis Schofield, before Ahmed put the Admirals back in front.

Callum Jones ensured a share of the spoils at the death in front of 55 fans.

On Saturday, Nelson again scored twice, but were knocked out of the FA Carlsberg Vase at the second qualifying round stage at home to Wigan Robin Park, losing 3-2.

The prolific Danny Boyle (pictured scoring) netted twice in the first 13 minutes to put the Blues in charge.

But Wigan hit back to take the lead before half-time, with three goals in the space of seven minutes.

Andrew Neafcy pulled one back on 32 minutes, before Phil Howard equalised two minutes later, and Robert Hanley hit what proved to be the winner six minutes from the break in front of 29 supporters.

On Saturday Nelson are at Ashton Town, and on Wednesday they host Bacup Borough in the Lancashire Challenge Trophy First Round.
