BARNOLDSWICK Town fought back from 2-0 down to take a share of the points against bottom of the table Stone Dominoes on Saturday.
Town had the better of the early exchanges, but wastful finishing and good goalkeeping kept the score at 0-0.
Stone then punished Town when a corner wasn’t cleared properly, which gave a delighted Arron Johns time to pick his spot.
The second came just before half-time when a well struck free kick from Stephen Allen made it 2-0.
Carl Ellerton pulled a goal back in the second half with a superb strike from fully 25 yards out.
And Stewart Airdrie then scored with a simple volley from five yards out.
Try as they might Town couldn’t find the winner, going very close on a number of occasions.
Town were without 13 players due to injury and suspension, and Ben Hall said: “What a horrendous week we had.
“Stewart Airdrie and Liam Garbutt were both not fit and Liam Blades played with a chipped bone in his foot. They deserve great credit for pulling a shirt on and helping the team out.
“We had three defenders in midfield, and it just can’t go on.
“We need these lads fit - we are up there in the league with 1 defeat in 11, but god knows how to be honest.
“I’m praying we get a few back for at Ashton.”
Tomorrow Town are again in league action at Ashton Athletic.
The reserves went down 2-0 at Irlam.
They host AFC Darwen Reserves tomorrow.
