Mill Hill 5, Rock Rovers 2
ROCK succumbed to defeat in Blackburn, after going in level at half-time.
Alex Heap put Rovers ahead midway through the first half, only for the hosts to level before the break.
And Mill Hill kicked on in the second half, storming into a 4-1 lead, before Joe Kelly pulled one back.
Mill Hill added a fifth goal, however, to thwart hopes of a comeback.
Mark Feeney was man of the match for Rovers.
The reserves beat champions Rimington 2-1.
A penalty from Daniel Terry put them ahead after 20 minutes, but Rock conceded straight from the kick-off, Rimington equalising with a shot from a tight angle.
Rock dominated the first period, but the teams went in level, and Rimington went on to boss the second.
They were stunned though, when Rob Lawless smashed in what proved to be the winner from 35 yards out.
Man of the match was Matthew Robinson.
Tomorrow Rock’s first team are at Calder Vale and the reserves host Oswaldtwistle Immanuel, meet The Venue at 12-30 p.m.
Also in the East Lancashire League, Barrowford Celtic saw their game at Church Town postponed. They entertain Daneshouse tomorrow.
