The funeral of a former Barnoldswick man tragically killed in a car accident was held at Holy Trinity Church.
Daniel Lambert (32), who was living in Stratford-upon-Avon, was killed in a two-car crash in the town on Sunday, November 18th, shortly after 9-30pm.
His parents, Ian and Sally Lambert, have paid tribute to “Dan”, who attended Barnoldswick CE School, West Craven Technology High School and Nelson and Colne College.
Daniel was a very gifted mathematician and, while at West Craven, he was awarded the Schofield prize for Mathematics and the Rolls-Royce Shop Stewards Committee prize for engineering.
Daniel went on to receive the Shaw Greening Trophy for maths when at Nelson and Colne College, an award handed out by Earby Town Council. He then went on to study maths at the University of Warwick.
In his younger years, Daniel was a member of Holy Trinity Cubs and West Craven Swimming Club and enjoyed spending time with his grandparents, who shared with him their love of the countryside and gardening.
He was a well-known face around Barnoldswick too as during his studying, Daniel worked part time at Harry Garlick’s shop and Nutters Newsagents as well as Lakeside Garden Centre at Foulridge and LDJ Design and Display at Skipton.
After leaving university, Daniel loved the area around Warwick so much he decided to stay to live and work down there. For the last seven years, he worked at Atlantic Airlines as Senior Finance Executive.
In his spare time, he was a keen darts player for Stratford-upon-Avon Royal British Legion Club and a passionate supporter of Leeds United.
He was very well liked and respected by all who knew him, which included many people across Europe.
Daniel, described as a “doting father”, leaves behind his four-year-old daughter Ruby Louise who he played a very large part her life.
He also leaves a sister Carla, her partner Anthony and their children Isla and Finlay and his younger brother Jack.
His distraught parents said: “Daniel was a loving, caring person who will be sadly missed.”
The funeral will take place at Holy Trinity Church on Skipton Road at 2-15pm followed by a cremation at Skipton Crematorium at 3pm. Arrangements by Windles on 813345.
