Nelson cricketers are honoured at Seedhill

NELSON CC held a very successful Country Fayre and Presentation night in the clubhouse last week, when both senior and junior cricketers were presented with their awards for the 2012 season by retiring president John Reed.

Many achievements were rewarded during the fun evening when a captive audience was entertained by horse,dog and pig racing, along with several sideshows featuring archery, hot air balloon racing and mini sticks.

Nelson CC would like to thank their sponsors for the evening events, namely Businesswise Solutions, Merc Engineering, Red Rose Holdings, St Leonard’s School and Riverside Rest Home, as well as many generous contributions from many other local businesses.

The club would like to remind everyone that the fabulous Benny is on in the clubhouse on New Year’s Eve with tickets available by ringing 614810.

Tickets are priced at £5 for what promises to be a fantastic way to see in 2013.

Harrison award, David Crotty; President’s prize, Chris Heap; Most promising young cricketer, Harrison Phelan; Second XI captain’s prize, Lewis Hillman; Third XI captain’s prize, Harrison Phelan; Players’ player of the year, David Crotty.
