ST Andrew’s maintained their lead at the top of the Nelson and District Semi-Snooker League First Division after a 4-1 home win over Carters A.
They now hold a seven-point lead over second-place Poultry B, who suffered a 3-2 loss away to Lamb B, for whom James Waddington had a break of 71 but lost on the black ball to Chris Mount.
Old Band B lie in third position after a 3-2 away win over Liberal A, and down at the Alexandra, Keith Ormerod Jnr had a break of 58 and team mate John Lanceley had a run of 38 as Alex recorded a 4-1 home win over a visiting Lamb A side.
Burnley Miners got the better of a visiting Paradise A side with a 3-2 win, and Briercliffe had a narrow 3-2 win over Worsthorne as Engine Bysell recorded his first win in three years as he overcame Mark Nuttall in the deciding frame.
In the Second Division, White Lea Head pulled off a 4-1 home win over St Andrew’s B, whose only frame winner was Steven Wilkinson, and now the Cock Hill side have extended their lead at the top to 10 points.
Shorthomers B moved into second place with a 4-1 home win over Dressers D, for whom Fred Meeks was their only winner as he narrowly beat Barny Fenlon on the black ball.
Molly Rigby’s take up third place despite losing 3-2 at Byerden House, while Jason Lee had a run of 37 for Dressers E, who went through the card at home to Liberal B and now move into fifth place.
Paradise B came back from 2-0 down to level things, with John Hayes managing to overcome Pedro Valentine in the final frame with a run of 28 for a 3-2 win over Tacklers A.
In the Third Division, Daryll Oldham had a run of 31 for Shorthomers C who are back at the top after a 3-2 away win over Old Band C, while Shorthomers D drop to second place as they lost to third placed Poultry D by a 3-2 margin.
Steve Illingworth had a run of 34 and Jason Bradley had a 30 break for Molly Rigby’s A, who ended up 4-1 home winners over Tacklers B.
Elsewhere David Street B gained a 3-2 home win over Lamb C, for whom Alan Hodgson had a run of 22, while Lamb D pulled off a 3-2 home win over Foulridge, and Dressers C came away from Tacklers C with a 3-2 win.
