IN the Nelson and District Semi-Snooker League First Division, St Andrew’s remain in pole position with a six-point lead despite an open date this week.
Staying in second place, Poultry B came back from a 3-0 deficit at home to Briercliffe with wins from Chris Mount over Brian Collinge and “Prof” Peter Hunt over Rob Stone.
Alexandra stay in third place but went down 3-2 away to Old Band B, for whom Andy Marshall had a run of 39 and Roger Bateson a run of 30. The deciding frame went to Kevin Hodgson over John Lanceley.
Elsewhere, Eric Catlow was on fire for Paradise A and put in a clearance of 108 in their 3-2 home win over Lamb A, while Tony Ashworth was Burnley Miners’ only winner with a run of 43 as they suffered a 4-1 defeat away to bottom side Carters A.
Worsthorne went into a 3-1 home lead over Poultry A, with Howard Dove securing the final frame over Mick Preston to end the match 3-2, and John Cant was Lamb B’s only winner as they went down 4-1 at home to Liberal A.
In the Second Division, White Lea Head suffered a 3-2 defeat away to an in-form Tacklers A outfit who ended up winning 3-2 with the aid of three black ball frames in their favour. However the Cock Hill side still hold a 14-point lead at the top.
Colne Dressers remain in second place despite a 3-2 loss away to Liberal B, for whom John Singleton took the deciding frame over Ronny Peden.
Shorthomers B stay in third place but went down 3-2 away to Nelson Golf Club, while Molly’s B came away from St Andrew’s with a 3-2 win to keep them in fourth spot.
Kirk Hitchcox had a run of 31 for David Street A, who pulled off a 4-1 home win over Dressers E, and Dressers D gained a 3-2 home win over Byerden House B.
In the Third Division, Shorthomers C are just a point clear at the top after a 3-2 home win over Dressers B, while Molly’s A are in second place after a 3-2 away win over third placed Nelson Poultry D.
Foulridge lie in joint fourth place despite a 4-1 loss at home to David Street B, and Old Band C also share fourth place but lost out 3-2 away to Dressers C.
Tacklers C were in form and went through the card at home to Shorthomers D for a 5-0 win, and Tacklers B came away from Church Street with a 3-2 win over Lamb C.
