Barrowford Celtic Under 13s Black beat Lammack Juniors 5-1 with four goals from Ryan McGinty.
Lammack took the lead inside the first five minutes, with help from the windy conditions, and held it until the final 18 minutes when a long clearance from goalkeeper Lee Coffey led to McGinty equalising with a great strike.
The goals came in quick succession after that, with a great poacher’s effort from Harry Allan and three more from McGinty.
Man of the match was Scott Simpson.
BRIERFIELD Celtic Under 13s Red started the new year with a hard-fought point against Greyhound Ford.
An action-packed match ended in a 5-5 draw after Greyhound came back from 2-1 down to lead 5-2.
Throughout the last 25 minutes Celtic dominated posession and converted their chances, with Cain Buck snatching a hat-trick.
With only a few minutes left, substitute Lewis Frobisher sent a 20-yard dipping strike over the Greyhound keeper’s head and into the net.
The teams battled until the end and after a late penalty shout was turned down, Celtic left with a point to be proud of.
Also in action were Brierfield Celtic Under 10s Blue with a 4-1 win over Barrowford Celtic in th Consolation Cup.
Man of the match Jude Mercer scored two goals, with James Dean and Luke Hutton also on target to secure the three points.
PENDLE Forest Sports Club seek a dedicated goalkeeper to join their Under 9s section (school year 4).
Team training is held on a Thursday evening at Pendle Vale Community School, with league matches usually played on a Sunday morning.
