YOUNG thug Shane Driver was jailed for 10 months for smashing pub windows with a baseball bat.
Burnley Crown Court was told Driver (21), of Keighley Avenue, Colne, smashed six windows at the Duke of Lancaster pub, formerly known as the Shepherd’s, in Market Street.
He pleaded guilty to threatening the doorman and landlord, carrying an offensive weapon and to destroying property worth £1,816.
The court was told he had 30 previous convictions for 63 offences, including violence, and had a seven year history of breaching court orders and ASBOs.
CCTV of Driver’s wrecking spree was shown to the court. He arrived brandishing the baseball bat and demanding to see his girlfriend. A few seconds after he was asked to wait outside while the doorman went to find her Driver ran down the side of the pub, smashing windows as he went.
He threatened landlord John Wolstenholme and the doorman, Mr Parr, when they ran after him.
Driver had written a letter to the court saying he sorry, he was on medication and had been drinking wine.
