Staff at a Colne company are warning local businesses to remain on their guard after their premises were targeted by thieves last week.
Ranking Solutions’ senior account manager Richard Morris found a window smashed and expensive telephones hanging by their wire at the listed Derby Street building on Friday morning.
Over £1,000 worth of damage has been caused as a result of the incident.
Online marketing consultant Ross Grierson said: “ The offender has smashed the window through, and pulled phones out so they are left hanging.
“Because we are in a listed building, the damage caused will be in excess of £1,000. The window was specialised.
“My colleague Richard was a little shocked when he saw the damage.”
Police confirmed that an offender entered the rear yard that links several premises via an insecure metal gate.
The offender, who fled the scene undetected, has then climbed onto an industrial wheelie bin to gain access to the first floor window.
A lower pane of a three paned window was left smashed by unknown means. Nothing was stolen.
