Eco-friendly pupils at a Foulridge primary school had a fantastic day promoting the importance of being environmentally friendly.
The youngsters from Saint Michael and All Angels CE Voluntary Aided Primary School, in Skipton Road, took part in a variety of activities during their “Green Day”.
Year 3 pupils at the school, which boasts a Green Flag status, began the day by hosting an assembly for staff, students and parents.
Their focus was on how people can reduce, reuse and recycle waste, and was followed by a fairtrade event.
This included refreshments and a variety of stalls selling gifts — some of which had been created by the pupils from recycled products, such as crisp packets.
Pupils were also paid a visited by representatives from Lancashire Hawks and Owls, who rehabilitate and rescue owls and other birds of prey, and chainsaw sculptor Tim Burgess.
Mr Burgess created an owl sculpture out of a tree, which can be seen in the school grounds.
Year 2 teacher Emma Sanderson said: “The day was really good — the children really enjoyed it.
“The whole school was involved, and different classes had different stalls.”
