This year’s Laneshaw Bridge Party in the Park is promising to be bigger and better than ever — with a whole host of activities being planned to entertain both adults and children alike.

Taking place on Saturday, July 6th between 1-30pm and 7pm, the free event is once again being hosted by Laneshaw Bridge Events Committee.

The popular party, which includes a licensed bar, hog roast and barbecue on the Recreation Ground, off Emmott Lane, will be packed with live entertainment from Vicky and the Big Combo, Laneshaw Bridge School Choir, and Steve Humbert.

And as well as offering donkey rides, a bouncy castle, Sports Day races, and a fairground ride, guests will also be able to test their culinary skills in “The Alma Inn Great Brig-ish Bake Off”. The new feature will give people the chance to come and have their wares judged, with prizes for the winners.

Chairman of Laneshaw Bridge Events Committee, County Coun. Paul White said “This is now a huge event for us, and a great opportunity for the whole village to party together and have a great time.

“Last year we themed it for the Jubilee, and it worked so well we’re continuing with it. It’s great to bring back the Sports Day and add the Bake Off too, which I’m sure will go down a treat”.

And Vice Chairman Coun. Jim Knowles added: “Once again we’ve got an action packed day with fun for all ages.

“Huge credit really must go to the growing list of local businesses who support this event financially and without who we couldn’t run this event, which has become something our village is now well known for.

“They have helped put Laneshaw Bridge on the map”.
