Schools across Pendle and West Craven are closed today after two leading unions – the NUT and NASUWT – asked members to take industrial action against the government’s pay and pension reform plans spearheaded by minister Michael Gove.
Schools affected are Newtown Nursery School, Colne, whole school closed; Springfield Primary School, Earby, classes 1 to 6 closed (Kandinsky (Year 5/6) class open, 8-55am to 1pm and Monet (Year 4/5) class open, noon to 1pm); Marsden Community Primary School, whole school closure;
St Philip’s CE Primary School, Nelson, whole school closure; Pendle Vale College, whole school closure; St John Southworth RC Primary School, Nelson, Year 1.
Also added: Barnoldswick CE Voluntary Controlled Primary School, reception class and Year 4; Barrowford St Thomas CE Primary School, whole school; Park Primary School, Colne, whole school; Holy Saviour RC Primary School. Nelson, whole school; Lomeshaye Junior School, Years 3 and 6; Lord Street Primary School, Colne reception and Years 1,2,4,5 and 6; Trawden Forest Primary School, whole school.
