After the tragic loss of her baby, Jayden, mum Clare Frear is determined to raise cash in his memory and help other parents whose children are seriously ill.
Jayden was born last September but had a birth disorder and, after almost four weeks, sadly, died from bronchopneumonia. It was a dreadful experience for Jayden’s family.
Clare, from Hendon Road, Nelson, said: “It tore us all well down – not just me but his big brother Declan (9) and sister Krystal (2). All the family miss him tremendously, including grandma and grandad.”
As a result, the family have set up a campaign which will sponsor Jayden’s graveyard headstone, but will also provide funding to help the families of other children who suffer from illness.
Clare and her family and friends have already taken part in a fund-raising pubcrawl through Colne to boost the “Jayden’s Legacy” charity. But there is also going to be a street-held hair shave next month.
It will take place on July 21st, outside Clare’s home in Hendon Road from 1-30pm. She said: “There are lots of people - family and friends, taking part. My dad Peter has always had long hair but is now getting it shaved off in memory of Jayden.
“And there are also three of his uncles – Ashley Frear, Gareth Fisk and Daniel Hawke. I love Jayden to bits but I couldn’t shave my hair – however, I am pleased others are doing it.
“We are setting up a charity to help other people in need. We have had a lot of support from people making donations to help us.”
Jayden has been buried at Nelson Cemetery in Walton Lane, and the plan is to create a headstone in his memory but them aid other families. You can make donations at Clare’s home – 83 Hendon Road – or visit: declan03@hotmail.co.uk and make a PayPal donation.
