A French family has set up camp in Pendle Leisure Centre’s car park.
Around 10 caravans and a number of vehicles, including a Mercedes and a BMW, are currently at the Crown Way site, in Colne.
The group, which is made up of approximately 20 adults and children from Strasbourg, arrived yesterday evening after relocating from Carr Road, in Nelson. Police attended the scene this morning, and Pendle Council have been notified.
According to one member of the family, who gave his name as Mr Pierdo, the family will be moving from Colne to London in a few days.
The father-of-four said that the group were on their holidays, but had stopped due to a broken exhaust pipe in one of their cars. He added that a garage had been contacted.
Centre manager at Pendle Leisure Centre Julie Wilmore confirmed that there have been no problems, as of yet, as a result of the family.
She added: “Hopefully they will move on soon.”
