A 27-year-old man was left with severe facial injuries after he was subjected to a “nasty attack” outside a Colne takeaway.
Now police are appealing for more information about the incident, which happened outside Al Pachino’s, in Market Street, between 3-50pm and 4-20am on Sunday, July 14th.
The victim was leaving the takeaway carrying a pizza when he was confronted by four men, one of who started to punch him in the face for no reason.
The offender, described as a white eastern European man, is believed to be a part of a group of four possibly Polish men. He spoke with a polish accent, and was around 5ft. 8in. or 5ft. 9in. tall and of slim build. He was said to have light brown hair, which is shaved at the back and sides, and he appeared to have a tattoo on the back of his neck.
PC Hughes from Nelson Police said: “This is a nasty attack on a young man who had simply stopped to get food after a night out.
“The victim has been left with painful injuries with his upper jaw having to be realigned and wired together with his top row of teeth.”
