Two Barnoldswick shops were targeted by thieves in the same night during the early hours of Sunday.
A shop in Church Street was hit between midnight and 8am when entry was gained via a rear window after a pain of glass was removed.
Eight 750ml bottles of alcohol were stolen including a bottle of Navy rum, Smirnoff vodka, Gordon’s gin, Bells and Southern Comfort whisky and Three Barrels and Remy brandy. Items taken and damage to the window totalled £200.
On the same night, a corner shop in Skipton Road was also broken into after the lock was forced on a grey metal gate was forced, it lifted off its hinges and the door kicked in.
A Toshiba laptop worth £360, £170 in cash and various multipacks of cigarettes valued at £770 were taken including brands Lambert and Butler, John Player, Benson and Hedges, Mayfair and Richmond.
Police have urged shopkeepers to remain vigilant and have issued crime prevention advice such as not leaving cash in the till and ensuring properties are as secure as possible.
