It is set to pride itself on being Colne’s “one stop party shop” — so it is no surprise that owner Michelle Hartley will be opening its doors with a fun day for all the family.

Celebrations, complete with champagne, chocolates and refreshments for the children, will be taking place in Albert Road tomorrow, between 9am and 5pm, as Big Bounce is officially unveiled to the public.

The business has recently been taken over by Mrs Hartley, who is expanding the firm from bouncy castle hire to a store catering to every person’s party needs.

There will be something for all occasions, from hen dos, to birthdays, to christenings, with the new shop providing a large selection of goods, including giftware, fancy dress and party bags.

Mrs Hartley (46), of Hawes Drive, Colne, said: “I am looking at taking Big Bounce to a whole new level.

“I love Colne and I am excited about working here, and bringing people into the area.

“There are some fabulous shops and little businesses here.”

Other independent businesses and councillors have also expressed their delight at another unique store opening in the town.

Ashley Sutcliffe, who runs Live Like The Boy in Shackleton Hall said: “Everybody is being innovative and bringing something different into Colne. It is good that trade is picking up in that area.”

And Coun. Paul White, who leads on economic development, enterprise and growth on Pendle Council, added: “It is great news that there is another new store in Colne. It is good that the council is able to support new enterprises in the town.”
