Pendle Blues Athletic and Financial Affairs from Division 1 booked their places in the semi finals of the Peter Shaw Trophy after beating Premier Division opposition.
Athletic enjoyed an 11-3 victory against Graham Engineering Redskins. Four goals from Daniel Ibbetson, braces from Danny Conway and Tom Jarrold and strikes from David Shackleton, Lee Denton and Leighton Cragg secured victory. Redskins replied with goals from Gareth Hargreaves, David Blacklock and Nathan Edwards.
Scott Boyle (2), Peter Rowell and Ross Whittaker helped Financial Affairs record a 4-0 win against Timmys Ts. Present holders Trawden Venue FC beat Station Hotel 8-1 to progress.
A Rob Lawless hat-trick, braces from Carl Ellerton and Tom Swindells and a Ben Gorman effort ensured a comfortable victory for Venue.
Simon Reid scored Station’s consolation. Crown FC recorded a 7-3 win against last year’s beaten finalists Sacred Heart to take them through. Sean Thompson, Eddie Caddis and Scott Ridehalgh were on target for Heart.
In the Premier Division, Paak United moved up to third after beating Sacred Heart United 5-2. Two goals from Umar Waqar and efforts from Qasim Khan, Danyal Butt and Akash Ajmal secured victory to move within two points of leaders Trawden Venue. Dominic Allen and Danny Henry were are target for United. Life FC also moved to within two points of the leaders after beating Pendle Blues 2-1. Hussain Abbas and Daniel Dickinson scored, while Jamie Holmes replied for Blues.
Colne Town moved two points clear at the top of the First Division after beating George and Dragon Athletic 3-1. Jak Gouch, Ross Walker and James Holmes secured maximum points. Joshua Hind grabbed Athletic’s consolation. Four goals from Antony Hartley along with efforts from David Howe, Andrew Graham and Matt Fogg helped SKK Blacko record a 7-4 win against Crooked Billet. Brendan Park grabbed another hat-trick for Billet Tom Smith scored the other. A goal from Ashley Ross was enough for Shooters Clarets to beat Lanway, and Sacred Heart Celtic Development grabbed only their second league win to move out of the relegation zone, beating Golden Ball 4-3.
In the game of the day in the Second Division, Boca Clarets suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 3-2 to leaders FC Intershape. A Joel Howard brace and James Brooke’s winner secured victory for Intershape. Fence FC beat Life Athletic 6-2 thanks to an Al Knight hat-trick and goals from Michael Bann, Andy Hakin and Romane Musso.
