Searching for soldier’s relatives

THE search is on for relatives of a Pendle soldier who was killed in action in the First World War.

Howgill Wilson was born in Foulridge in 1881 and was one of nine children born to his parents Richard and Ellen.

His siblings were Peter, John, Sankey, Moody, Isabella, Martha Ellen, Robin and Richard.

In 1901, the family lived in Colne Lane, Colne and in 1911 Howgill and his wife, Rose, lived in Green Road.

At the outbreak of war, Howgill becamne a private in the Manchester Regiment and was killed in France in March, 1918.
