BOTH Colne and Nelson’s North West Counties League fixtures fell foul of the weather on Saturday.
In the Premier Division, the Reds were due to host Winsford United, but a conditions put paid to any chance of action.
Indeed there were only two games played in the division - Barnoldswick Town’s 2-1 defeat at Glossop North End, and Runcorn Linnets’ 1-0 win at home to Silsden.
In the First Division, Nelson’s game at Norton United was washed out, with only Eccleshall’s 4-1 defeat at home to Oldham Borough played.
It was the same story for the reserves, with the Blues’ second string’s trip to Silsden postponed.
Barnoldswick Town Reserves’ Craven Cup Second Round tie at home to Rimington also fell by the wayside.
On Boxing Day, Colne are at Silsden, while Nelson host Holker Old Boys (kick-off 3 p.m.).
Nelson have no game on January 2nd, but the standout fixture sees Colne host Barnoldswick Town, looking for a bit of revenge after their 2-0 loss at the Silentnight Beds Stadium a month ago.
