A MAN accused of murdering an 80-year-old woman in Colne has made a brief appearance at Preston Crown Court.
George Portsmouth (24), of Varley Street, Colne was charged with murdering Connie French, who died just over a week ago. She had lived in North Street, Colne.
He had originally faced charges of burglary and inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.
When he appeared at court, the case was adjourned until June 22nd for a plea and case management hearing.
There was no application for bail and Portsmouth was remanded in custody by Judge Anthony Russell.
