CLARETS defender Kieran Trippier emerged as the Burnley supporters’ clubs’ Player of the Year at Turf Moor on Tuesday night.
The right back, signed on a season-long loan from Manchester City before completing a permanent move in January, claimed four gongs as he edged out homegrown hero Jay Rodriguez, who won three, to the overall title.
Stalwart Michael Duff, who recently signed a new one-year deal with the club, and midfielder Dean Marney also went away with prizes, while goalkeeper Brian Jensen won an appreciation award for his nine years of service.
Clarets legend Jimmy Robson was the recipient of the annual award for services to Burnley Football Club, presented by former player and chief executive Paul Fletcher.
And the exploits of the youth team didn’t go unnoticed either, as they collected a special award in recognition of their achievement in reaching the FA Youth Cup semi-finals, the Lancashire FA Youth Cup final and challenging for the Youth Alliance North West Division title.
