ANYONE who lives in the Bradley area of Nelson is invited to a special meeting next week to discuss how to spend £1 million of lottery funding.

Paul Hussey, Head of Policy at Pendle Council, said: “Back in March, we announced that Bradley is one of just eight areas in the North West to have been given funding from the Big Local.

“This is a lottery funded programme that will invest more than £1 million to make Bradley an even better place to live over the next 10 years.

“Big Local is about people. It brings together the talent, ambitions, skills and energy of local residents improve their area.

“The improvements in Bradley could include training and employment schemes, tackling anti-social behaviour or providing more activities for young people – whatever local residents tell us is important to them.”

Tony Mullin from the Big Local Trust will facilitate a Bradley residents’ meeting on Tuesday, where local people will have an opportunity to identify what they want.

The meeting will take place from 5-30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in The Zone in Leeds Road, Nelson.

A buffet tea, including vegetarian and Halal options, will be provided.

Paul added: “By consulting with the local community, we can pull together a vision for the Bradley area.

“Based on that, we’ll write a 10-year action plan, working with Local Trust, an organisation that is managing the Big Local scheme.”

Please tell Pendle Council if you are planning on attending the meeting.
