It was a mixed weekend for Barrowford Cricket Club.
The first team hosted Crossflats, and despite some impressive individual performances, the Red Rose side suffered a 17-run defeat.
J. Babar followed up his five-wicket haul in the first game of the season with an economical 3-32.
D. Jones also took three wickets as the visitors were dismissed for 165.
Barrowford lost two early wickets but N. Burton (31) and A. Choudhry (55) rebuilt to give the home side a chance of victory.
Unfortunately wickets fell regularly and the home side were dismissed for a disappointing 148.
Barrowford CC would like to thank Acorn’s Healthy Option Pet Food for sponsoring the match ball in this game.
The second team continued their unbeaten start to the season with a comfortable 72-run victory against Crossflats’ seconds.
Barrowford set a target of 181, J. Ormerod making his first half century of the season with a patient well-made 65.
The total was always going to be too much for the home side as A. Zaman (3-56) and M. Atkinson (3-16) both bowled well.
