ROCK Rovers completed a league and cup double last week.
Already crowned East Lancashire League Second Division champions - sealing a return to the top flight after a four-year absence - the locals took on Borrowdale United in the Bob Little Cup Fibal at Padiham’s Arbories ground.
And Rovers emerged 2-0 winners to cap a superb season.
Right back James Catlow gave Rock a first half lead, cutting inside before finding the net, and that was added to shortly after the break when Thomas Cleaver gave them a cushion from a corner.
Rovers ran out deserved winners, and could have added to their tally, hittiong the bar and both posts.
Rovers finally get to play their Bird Cup Final tie with Padiham AFC tomorrow at Colne’s XLCR Stadium, kick-off 2-30 p.m.

On Sunday the side won 2-0 at Lytham, with Amy Clarke named player of the match.
Last week the girls won 5-0 at Great Harwood, with Rachel Hartley the pick of the players.

The Pythons ran out 4-2 winners in their latest game against Daneshouse with an impressive performance, with Lewis Whitlow scoring two, to add to goals for Thomas Holden and Cole Whitehead.
An outstanding man of the match performance came from Luke Stowe
The Pythons, however, went down 3-2 to Ighten Leigh Under 10s Purple.
Stowe - again named star man - and Brandon Howley scoried the goals.
FINAL SCORE: Bacup Blue 1, Pendle Forest U9s Cobras 2
A GOAL within 30 seconds by Alfie Percival gave the Cobras from Pendle Forest the lead against Bacup Blue in the Warburtons League.
The scoreline was doubled just before half-time, with Finn Buck putting the ball into the oppositon net.
Bacup pulled one back in the second half, although the Cobra’s deservedly secure another away win at the full time whistle.
Man of the match was Isaac Routh.
Then the Cobras’ North Valley League side drew 1-1 with Belvedere Juniors, as captain Thomas Holden scored the goal that confirmed Cobras would be champions.
He also walked away with the man of the match award.
Forest were given a really good game by Belvedere and Harrison Howarth in goal had to be at his best in the second half.
Congratulations to all the boys in the squad on their fantastic achievement, and a special mention for Stan Dickinson, who broke his collarbone and missed the game.
