Celtic’s first match since the end of November was not going to be easy against an in-form Huncoat, but the locals prevailed with a late winner.
The game was tight from the start, but the Blacks took the lead midway through the first half through Ryan McGinty.
It was a much of the same in the second half, with both teams trying to get a break.
However, Huncoat levelled the game 15 minutes from the end.
But shortly after the restart, great passing play from Scott Simpson found McGinty to score his second, earning him the man of the match award and three well-deserved points for the Blacks.
FINAL SCORE: Huncoat Juniors 1, Barrowford Celtic Under 13 Blacks 2
This was the locals’ first game since mid-November but there were no signs of ring-rust as the Barons continued their winning streak, lifting them to third in the league.
From the first whistle to the last the Barons worked hard, playing some excellent passing football, resulting in chances being created at regular intervals.
Goalscorers were Jack Beck, Declan Mara, who grabbed a brace, Lewis Costelloe and star man Mbako Chalashika, who both hit hat-tricks, and Danny Edwards who led the way with four goals.
FINAL SCORE: Barnoldswick Barons Under 9s 13, Briercliffe Rovers 2
