Pendle played their final game of the season on Saturday, as they cemented third place to finish just outside the promotion places.
Pendle quickly broke down the Chorley defence when an excellent lineout from Liam Canning provided quick ball to the backs. Andy Dutton sent Rob Lawless through a hole in the defence, and Carl Wiseman went over to score, which was unconverted.
Then a lineout steal from Jay Asghar, saw him and Sterling Ross drive into the heart of the defence, and quick ball allowed James Redford to skip through. Again the conversion was missed.
And when a steady five metre scrum allowed Dave Morris to feed Dutton quick, clean ball, he found Lawless to score, though again the conversion went begging.
Midway through the first half, Pendle were adjudged to have hands in the ruck and the Chorley captain chose to get points on the board to reduce the arrears to 15-3.
But Chorley soon knocked on in attack and Wiseman picked the loose ball up and spirited 50 metres to score a breakaway try. Redford slotted the conversion for Pendle to lead 22-3.
Straight from the kick-off Stu Riley collected the ball and offloaded to Jonny Harper, who raced towards the line and off-loaded to Liam Canning to score.
Redford was on target with the conversion.
Chorley were then given a penalty for off-side, reducing the arrears to 29-6, only for Shaye McCullough to make an excellent break and run clear to score. Redford made it three kicks from three and Pendle led 36-6.
The only score of the second half came from Redford when a big carry from Nick Martin put Chorley on the back foot and Dutton opened a hole for Redford to score. Sapphire Cleaning Services Man of the Match Redford increased his tally for the game to 18 points with the conversion.
