There is a call for all former pupils of Nelson Grammar School (1946-72) and its predecessor, Nelson Secondary School (1930-45) to go along to a reunion.
Event organiser the Rev. David Wiseman said: “We are holding our annual school reunion at the ACE Centre in Nelson on Saturday, July 20th.
“Already, we have over 60 people coming from as far away as Australia – also Scotland, Dorset and London. We shall have an exhibition of old school photographs, an auction of memorabilia, and the annual Fun prize giving for former pupils who are present. This takes the form of birthdays, anniversaries, oldest, youngest, furthest travelled, etc.”
He added: “Entrance is by ticket only and if you wish to attend, or require further details, please contact me at 01756 797443.”
NGS have their own monthly magazine. Mr Wiseman said: “We call it ‘Nelson Reunion’, and it’s only available by post. Our next issue completes five years of publishing and we have 300 regular members. If you would like to receive a free copy, please send me your name and home address, and say which years you were at school. Address: Rev. David Wiseman, 4, The Ginnel, Skipton, North Yorks BD23 2HW.
