James is on fire for Lamb B

James Waddington was on fire down at Church Street when he knocked in a clearance of 114 for Lamb B, who went on to secure a 5-0 whitewash over Alexandra and put themselves six points clear at the top of the Nelson and District Semi-Snooker League First Division.

Lamb A hang on to joint second place despite losing 3-2 at in-form Dressers E.

Worsthorne also share second place after a 3-2 home win over Old Band A, for whom Andy Marshall had a break of 58, and team mate Mark Salmon had a break of 69.

Elsewhere, Liberal A pulled off a 3-2 home win over St Andrew’s, who also share second place, while Paradise move into mid table after a 4-1 home win over Poultry B, and Briercliffe move into sixth place with a 3-2 win over Poultry A up at the Gravel.

In the Second Division, Carters A take over at the top after a 5-0 home whitewash over a travelling Molly Rigby’s B side, while Paradise let things slip and drop to second place after falling to a 3-2 defeat at Nelson Golf Club.

Old Band remain in third place after a 4-1 home win over David Street A, and White Lea Head are back on track with a 4-1 home win over a struggling Shorthomers B side.

Byerden House have found a new lease of life and are back in mid table after a 4-1 home win over Dressers D, while Liberal C are stuck at the bottom after a 3-2 away defeat to St Andrew’s B.

In the Third Division, Burnley Miners are out in front with a nine-point lead after a 4-1 home win over Lamb C, and are followed by an inactive Old Band C side in second place.

Shorthomers D bring up third place with a 4-1 home win over Foulridge Social Club, while Shorthomers C stay in fourth spot after a 3-2 away win over Dressers B.

Andy Goody had a run of 39 for Molly Rigby’s A, who move into fifth place with a 4-1 home win over Lamb C, and Josh Robinson put in a run of 41 for David Street B in their 3-2 defeat at home to Dressers C.

Elsewhere Daz Stafford had a run of 34 for Carters D, but lost out to Mick Hudson as Lamb D secured a 3-2 home win, the last frame going to Carters’ Alfie Wicks, who came back from 30 behind to beat Lamb’s Paul Kelly on the black.
