Two Nelson junior golfers - and Burnley College Golf Academy stars - have qualified for the national colleges finals in Bath.
Academy members Niall Ormerod, Curtis Clarkin and Ben Short took part in the BCS North West Golf Tournament at Leyland Golf Club.
Advanced Level Sport Studies student Ben Short was unlucky to miss the qualifying cut by one shot, finishing with a round of 77.
Advanced Level Sport Studies student Niall Ormerod finished with a round of 76, while Advanced Level Business Management student Curtis Clarkin finished second overall with a round of 73.
Burnley College Coach Adam Welch said:“Ben hadn’t played for a number of months but battled back well from a poor start to finish eighth overall, just one shot off the cut.
“Curtis and Niall seemed to thrive on the pressure of the tournament and were delighted to finish second and sixth respectively.
“They are now looking forward to competing against the best young golfers in the country later in the academic year.”
In addition to the Golf Academy, Burnley College runs Basketball, Football, Netball, and Rugby academies.
