FAST-EXPANDING Pendle company Businesswise Solutions Ltd is to sponsor Nelson Cricket Club.

The firm, which specialises in cost reduction and purchase management, has agreed to be the club’s principal sponsor for both the 2012 and 2013 seasons. The company, based on the Lomeshaye Industrial Estate, will fund 26 new player kits and training kits for the first and second teams.

Dean Cockett, Businesswise Director, said: “We are proud to support a club which is steeped in local history; being one of the founding members of the Lancashire Cricket League some 150 years ago.

“Nelson boasts a successful club, which is highly regarded within the league and is well supported by its members.”

Acting Club Chairman David Heap said: “This is a very exciting time for Nelson Cricket Club and we are delighted to have Businesswise Solutions on board.

“The 2012 season is the start of a new era for the club with a new first team captain, Neil Thompson.

“This year will also see Nelson Cricket Club pledge a huge commitment to a new professional from Pakistan. Shahzaib Hasan is a robust and attacking opening batsman who hits the ball hard on either side of the wicket.

“The second team captain is Chris Willan, who is ready to pass on his wealth of experience and knowledge to the emerging players at the club.

“I would like to thank Businesswise Solutions for their generous sponsorship.”

The side host Tonge from the Bolton Association in another friendly on Sunday, April 15th at Seedhill.
