Coln Town open up the gap at top of Pendle Charity League

COLNE Town opened up a four point lead at the top of the First Division of the Pendle Charity League following a narrow 4-3 victory against SKK Blacko.

Goals from James Berry, Ross Walker, Charlie Sitaras and Joe Murphy secured victory for Town as they won their sixth consecutive league match.

A brace from Curtis Butterworth kept George and Dragon Athletic’s feint promotional prospects alive with a 2-1 win against Paak A FC.

Shooters Clarets came back from a 3-1 deficit to beat Sacred Heart Celtic Development Squad 4-3.

Kurt Wilkinson (2), Ashley Southworth and Liam Lock were on target for Shooters to take them up to fifth place in the table.

In the Second Division, Boca Clarets maintained their push for automatic promotion following a comfortable 4-1 victory against Life Athletic.

A brace from Daniel Russell along with goals from Giulio Enea and Lee Lord move Clarets to within four points of second placed Fence FC with two games in hand. Ayaz Hafiz scored Athletic’s consolation.

Goals from Lewis McKane, Andy Bibby and an own goal secured maximum points for Barnoldswick Barons in their 3-2 win against Fence FC to consolidate their place in the table.

A brace from Matthew Nutter and goals from Chris Garner, Shane Taylforth, Tom Mason, Alex Collett and Nathaniel Whitbread gave Pendle Renegades the points in a 7-1 victory against AFC Veterans to remain ahead of Barons on goals difference.

Dean Howlett grabbed a consolation for Veterans and Danny Bannister struck twice for T & R Precision as they beat Colne Cougars 2-0.
