HAVING secured the Premier Division title with two weeks to go, Colne Legion A beat Trawden Arms B 4-1 to secure a Pendle Pool League double.
Legion started as favourites, and frame one saw Legion pair Nick Peacock and Mark Wells take on Dave Prosser and Matthew Lawson.
The Trawden pair had the first chance, but it was Wells who eventually potted the black to give Legion a 1–0 lead.
In frame two, Derek Hart and Carol Ratcliffe overcame Dean Emmott and Peter Howarth to level the score.
Legion re-established their lead with a win by Wells over Lawson in frame three, and Bob Redman played solidly in frame four against Eva Pinder to take the score to 3–1.
Victory for Legion finally came in frame five, as team captain Nick Peacock seized on a mistake by opponent Derek Hart to complete a memorable league and cup double for the Keighley Road outfit.
