POLICE investigating a spate of burglaries in Pendle and Burnley have arrested four people following a series of raids in Bradford.
Officers from Lancashire Constabulary and West Yorkshire Police raided four addresses in the city at around 8 a.m. on Friday morning and arrested four men aged 17, 18, 25 and 32 on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary.
The action comes as part of an investigation into a series of burglaries which are alleged to have occurred in Brierfield, Nelson, Burnley, Blackburn and Accrington between September, 2011 and March, 2012.
Detective Inspector Ian Whitehead from Lancashire Constabulary said: “Burglary is an intrusive crime which can have a devastating impact on victims.
“I hope that this action sends out a reassuring message that we are committed to reducing burglary and will take strong action to tackle it.
“As always we would ask residents to help us keep crime low by ensuring their doors and windows are locked and that they don’t leave any valuable items on display to prove temptation to passing thieves.”
Anyone with information about burglary or who sees anything suspicious can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
